Bayern Munich forward ruled out of Real Madrid tie as manager gives Harry Kane update

Bayern Munich will be without one of their attacking talents for the crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid. The Bavarian giants, who secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, are considered favorites heading into the return match at the Allianz Arena.

Despite being outplayed for significant portions of the game, Real Madrid managed to stay within touching distance, showing resilience in the latter stages. However, they will face a setback with the suspension of key midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni for the upcoming fixture.

Bayern Munich Forward Unavailable for Second Leg

Bayern Munich officially announced on Friday that 18-year-old prospect Lennart Karl has suffered a thigh muscle tear in his right leg. Sky Sport DE reports that the injury is expected to sideline him for approximately three weeks, meaning he will miss the Real Madrid encounter on Wednesday and potentially the first leg of a Champions League semi-final should Bayern advance.

Vincent Kompany Offers Update on Harry Kane

Speaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s weekend match against St. Pauli, manager Vincent Kompany indicated that he would implement “one or two rotations” and suggested that his team could perform “even better” than they did in Madrid. Prior to their trip to the Spanish capital, there were concerns about a potential ankle injury sustained by star forward Harry Kane. Fortunately, it appears the England international has recovered and is not suffering any lingering effects from playing through discomfort.

Marca quotes Kompany stating, “Harry Kane was fine after the game; he played a little beyond his pain threshold. But there was no reaction the next day, and that’s the most important thing.”

Real Madrid is set to host Girona on Friday night at the Santiago Bernabeu, and it is anticipated that they will also rotate their squad before traveling to Germany. Players like Jude Bellingham and Eder Militao are expected to feature to regain match sharpness, with the aim of starting in Munich.
